HIV Results 2011

13,072,478 condoms were distributed
22,001 people received anti-retroviral (ARV) drugs
17,335 people living with HIV attended self-help groups
264,043 ‘most at risk’ people went to at least one prevention programme
49,531 most at risk people accessed voluntary confidential counselling and testing (VCCT)
42,472 most at risk people were treated for a sexually transmitted infection (STI)
5,706,497 needles and syringes were distributed

In 2011, 3DF supported 27 implementing partners to conduct wide-ranging activities for HIV prevention, care and treatment. Anti-retroviral treatment (ART), sexually transmitted infection (STI) treatment and methadone substitution therapy were maintained this year and progressively transferred to the Global Fund. Care and support activities included nutritional support, referrals, social support and home-based care services.
