Three Diseases Fund

Six donors have pledged to the Three Diseased Fund (3DF) total US$100 million over five years; fluctuation of the US dollar against other currencies has theoretically increased this amount. All donors have made their initial contributions. As of 2007, there are sufficient funds to cover all the approved Round 1 proposals with a total value of US$21 million for the first year of implementation. For 2008-2009, all agreements are renewed for a second year (from May onwards), and the Fund has launched a second round of small grants of total US$1 million targeting local Non-governmental Organizations.
